Ok here we go!!

Communist China decalres war to it's citizens. Mayhem and turmoil cover the city with blood, as the chinese army unleashes all of it's military power against the freedom thinking students. Nearly 7,000 casualties in few days. A lone man walks towards a column of tanks leaving the Tiananmen square in Beijing, China. Yes, the so-called "tankman" stands proudly before the army of the communist ruling party tanks. He stands for freedom, from the rule of half a dozen old men who take advantage of the hardworking chinese people and the establishment of a fair democracy to rule them. Gun shots filled the sky as he yelled: "Why are you here, you have done nothing but create misery, my city is in chaos because of you." Tanks came to a stop... and he stood there, defying, fighting for what he believed, against an army of brainwashed brothers. His weapon, public knowledge and nothing else.
Nevermore, identifies this powerful statement and seven years later they launch their CD, Politics Of Ecstasy, with the song The Tiananmen Man with it. This band hails from Seattle Washington, United States of America with Warrel Dane(vox) as their writter and Jeff Loomis (guitar) as the driving force of their musical endeavours. What can I say... They rock really hard. History, the tankman... great inspiration for a Monday. Now you go and "stick it to the man."
Lyrics... your wish is my command.
Today I have no link for a full song but here's a hint. I'll try to post the complete song during this week.
Here's the reason I choose this song. It only seems natural to remember events like these and compare people's reaction at different times and within various contexts. How deliberate are ruler's decisions and how they affect the rest of us. How much of what we know is true? How much of the freedom we think we have is not a cover for a very controlled society?
See you next Metal Monday. \m/
Please post comments or suggestions. Rock hard!
